Over the past 6 years, I have worked in film production, helping bring TV ads to life for some of Kenya’s most well-known corporate & household brands.
Outside of advertising, I have made 2 short films (one of which was filmed in the open sea) that have screened at regional & international film festivals.
Even though they are different fields, UX Design and Filmmaking share some common core values. For best outcomes, both demand embracing continuously iterative processes, an openness to constructive feedback and strong cross functional/team collaboration.
As a newcomer to UX, it is these principles, coupled with a creative rigour, that I carry into my work as a designer. I bring a fresh perspective - a new way of looking at things that is not bound by existing conventions.
I am particularly interested in translating complex problems into functional, intuitive and delightful solutions, through end-to-end thinking and user-centered design.
People ignore design that ignores people.
Empathy is the foundation of meaningful design.
By placing myself in the user's shoes, I strive to design experiences that not only meet their goals, but also anticipate & address their unspoken needs.
Mere curiosity adds wings to every step.
Why are things the way they are? Could they be better? In what ways?
These questions push me to challenge assumptions & explore possibilities in order to uncover innovative solutions that create meaningful impact.
Be your labour great or small,
Do it well, or not at all.
It's the small details - those that are easy to overlook - that can build trust and transform simple functionality into a memorable experience.
I approach designs ensuring no element is too small to deserve attention.
